ACALITMUS! Aca-what? ACALITMUS-That’s Academics, Literature and Music... and as part of our celebration of the Christian Education month, the Committee on Christian Education conducted ACALITMUS activities since the second Sunday of the month. The activities have made the theme’s message not only impacting and challenging but also enjoyable for everyone. The Academics part was done on the second Sunday.

Teacher Jessica asked for volunteers from the congregation who would like to take on a sort of bible quiz challenge. After the volunteers have walked in front, the deaconess asked them to recite a bible verse where the word “peace” could be found.

While the participants looked surprised with the quiz, each one bravely gave an answer and Ate Lulu Raymundo was able to cite and recite a bible verse perfectly. The Literature part was held on the third Sunday with Mitchie Bangloy and Marcus Khaleb Aguinaldo taking turns in story-telling. Khale even wore a Hebrew costume. They recited Mark 4:35-41- Jesus Calms the Storm.

The kids had shown remarkable confidence and great talent in memorization. Kudos to the little kids! The much awaited Music part was held last Sunday with the special musical presentation of the children from all over the mission points: Mountain Heights, Pangarap, Greenfields, Camarin and the children from the Lagro congregation. The children sang “Heal the World”, a song popularized by Michael Jackson. Dss. Maria Jessica says, “may kaugnayan ang awit na ito sa ating tema na kapayapaan...” The song is really a call to make the world a better place.

Among the soloists were Tyra Alivia, Joana Marie Agovida, Patrick Escobal, Erin Jehu Negre, and Adoraine Jurado.

Here is the complete text of Leor’s rap:

Save this world so precious, so blessed and so dear

Protect its beauty and splendor, don't let that disappear

Preserve our animals and plants, and humankind as well ![endif]--

and other forms of escape, for there is this constant annoyance- reality- which is disturbing our comfort.

And there was no evening and no morning on the fourth day before the end.

And man said, “Let there be divisions among the nations, so that we may know who is our common enemy.” And there was no evening and no morning on the third day before the end.

And finally man said, “Let us create create God in our image; let some other god compete with us.

Let us say that God thinks as we think, hates as we hate, and kills as we kill.”

And there was no morning and no evening on the second day before the end.

And on the last day, there was a great noise on the face of the earth.

Fire consumed the beautiful globe, and there was silence.

The blackened earth now rested, to worship the one true God.

And God saw all that man had done, and in the silence over the smoldering ruins, He wept.

The soloists sang well and the dancers did well too. Praise God for working in the lives of these little kids and for using their innocent voices to deliver the message of peace to everyone who had heard.

Special thanks to Janess Hernandez and Trixie Lucas for helping out in the choreography of hip-hop, banners and tambourine dance; Tabs Negre and Michael Soquillo for helping out the kids with the instruments.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow and unto Him be glory forever and ever!
